How to choose the right armor level

Choosing the level does not mean buying the highest one: it means protecting against what can realistically happen to you without loading the vehicle with unnecessary weight and cost.

Start with your risk

Think about your routes, schedules, the areas you pass through and the exposure of your activity. The risk of urban theft is not the same as that of a planned attack.

RGM Armor levels

We offer Level 2 urban anti-theft, Level 3 anti-violent assault, Level 4 anti-kidnapping, Level 5 anti-attack and Level 6–7 armor-piercing / military, plus custom protection.

More level, more weight

A higher level means more material, more weight and more cost, and it requires reinforcing suspension and brakes further. Read weight, suspension and brakes.

Make sure the level is verified

Confirm which standard the material was tested to. See EN 1063 and NIJ standards.
