Run-flat tires

In a dangerous situation, mobility is your best defense: if a vehicle can no longer move, it becomes a stationary target.

A run-flat is a high-strength polymer or rubber ring installed inside the tire, hugging the wheel. It carries the vehicle's weight and lets it keep rolling even when the tire has lost all pressure from gunshots or spikes.

It is an emergency system: it lets you drive between 20 and 50 km (12 to 30 miles) at moderate speed (80 km/h or 50 mph at most), depending on the model and weight of the vehicle. After use, the system and the tire must be inspected and, in most cases, replaced.
