Maintenance for your armored vehicle

An armored car is heavier and works harder than the same car without armor: doors, hinges, glass, tires, brakes and suspension wear differently. With timely checks it keeps its protection, comfort and value.

RGM Armor provides preventive and corrective maintenance for armored vehicles of any make, whether RGM armored them or not. We work at our certified plant in Monterrey, with ISO 9001:2015 certification for the installation and maintenance of vehicle armor, and serve clients across Mexico.

What we check

Key maintenance points

We check what the armor demands from the vehicle and what protects its occupants.

  • Doors and hinges

They should close without effort, noise or sagging. We adjust and reinforce hinges that carry the extra weight.

  • Bulletproof glass and seals

Edges, seals and signs of delamination such as moisture, bubbles or milky spots. How bulletproof glass works.

  • Window regulators

Motors and mechanisms that raise and lower glass much heavier than the factory one.

  • Tires and run-flat

Pressure, load and condition of the run-flat; if it was used, the system and tire must be inspected.

  • Brakes and suspension

Pads, rotors, springs and shocks wear sooner under the weight of the armor. More details.

  • Opaque armor

That the ballistic steel and hybrid armor stay in place, especially after a collision or a repair.

Preventive and corrective

Before it fails, and when it does

Preventive: periodic checks to catch wear on doors, glass, tires, brakes and suspension before it becomes a failure. Schedule them sooner than for the same vehicle without armor.

Corrective: when something no longer works right—a sagging door, a window that will not go up, a noise in the suspension—we diagnose and fix it. If the armor is damaged, it becomes a repair.

A regular shop does not always know how the protection is built: specialized service makes sure no part of the armor is displaced.

FAQ

Questions about armored vehicle maintenance

Do you service vehicles armored by another company?

Yes. We offer preventive and corrective maintenance for armored vehicles of any make.

How often should my armored car be serviced?

It depends on how much and where you drive. As a rule, check brakes, suspension and tires sooner than on the same vehicle without armor, and have doors and glass checked as soon as you notice a change.

Where is the service done?

At our certified armoring plant in Monterrey, Nuevo León. We serve clients across Mexico.

Can I take my armored car to a regular shop?

For routine vehicle service, yes; but anything involving doors, glass, bodywork or suspension is best done by armoring specialists, so the protection is not damaged or displaced.

What certifications do you have?

RGM Armor Internacional holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for the installation and maintenance of vehicle armor. View certifications.
